John Sowell, M.D. is a Huntsville native who attended Grissom HS and completed his undergraduate college studies at Birmingham-Southern College with honors.  He went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Medicine receiving AOA (Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary) distinction and continued his education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he completed his Transitional Internship and a Residency in Dermatology.  Dr. Sowell is licensed to practice medicine by the State of Alabama, is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.  He is also a clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama - Birmingham School of Medicine.
